At 3:31/3:33am the German U-boat U-156 torpedoed lake
tankers SS Oranjestad and Pedernales. Then with the
failure to remove the nozzle plug, they fired some shells at
the refinery. Then they moved westward towards Oranjestad
to the Eagle Pier to torpedo the Arkansas, which they seen
previously.
The next day, February 17, 2010, the torpedo was discovered
by military Sloterdijk and Corfporal van Meeteren. Then a
Dutch military and an
American military went there to inspect the torpedo. They
imitate got four Dutch militaries from Curacao to come to
disarm the torpedo.
I have now found out that three of the four Dutch militaries
died on the spot when the torpedo exploded, namely de Maagd,
Kooijman, and
Vogelezang. Pieter Joosse died later in the San Pedro
Hospital as a result of his injuries.
