PREPARATION OF THE ORANJESTAD'S PROPELLER

FOR MUSEUM'S DEDICATION
This museum is slated to be dedicated some time in February of 2012.  In preparation for this dedication the Oranjestad Committee is cleaning the propeller and preparing a temporary placard explaining the significance of the propeller and the ultimate goal of having it incorporated into a monument to those who lost their lives in Aruba during World War II.  The following are photos of this work as it is being carried out.
Andre Loonstra, Percy Sweetnam, Dufi Kock and Mr. Clifford Rosa, the government representative in front of the propeller
Here you can see that the area around the hub has been cleaned
The upper right blade has been partially cleaned, Percy points at the work that has been done.
A view of the museum from across the street.  The propeller can just be seen under the tree
This photo was cropped from the one above it and shows the propeller a little more clearly.
A view of the front of the soon to be dedicated museum.  Note the date on the old Aruban house, it is 1908.
