 The first photo is of Colorado Point from the air, the long black objects below Colorado Point on the right of the photograph are the U S Army barracks converted to apartments after the war to help ease the housing shortage in Lago Colony right after the war. |
This photo takes in the Colony and refinery as well as Baby Beach and the Big Lagoon. Note this photo was taken before the New Esso Club was built. |

A view of the then refinery and tank farm, you can see from this photo that there were a lot of tanks, they are the black and white things you see in the photo, for those who have never seen a tank farm. The Cat Cracker stands tall over the refinery. |

In the photo below you can see the little rim way that was used by the little airplanes. The plane from which these photos were taken will land there. It does not look like much of a runway. The planes came in over the road flying towards the sea and the prevailing wind and touched down just as they cleared the road.
