Your website is great. Incredibly well done,
thorough, interesting, etc.

I lived with my family in bungalow 285 from
Sep 1978-Dec 1981. My father, John Bell, worked directly (I
believe) for Jerry Golden, President of Lago/Esso/Seroe Colorado for
several years. My mother is still good friends with Jerry and his
wife, in 2011. I vividly recall going over to Jerry's and his
wife's house many times, which I know now as bungalow 69, as I
recall its big garden, view, proximity to the church, etc.

Until 2 weeks ago, when I stumbled across your
website, I had NO idea what the pile of rubble JUST east of our
house was. We were told it was the former governor's mansion, which
actually wasn't that far off, being as it was Casa Grande.

I loved and love Aruba. Period. I always
wondered what the hospital used to look like when we wandered up
that hill. What people thought when they hid in the old bunkers we
explored. What it was like to take flight in the old airfield we
only heard stories of. Aruba holds some sort of magic spell on many
of us who used to live there. I'll never forget it and do not
intend to.
